 :: Exmoor FoxExmoor Ales4.2% ABV
Exmoor - Fox
As subtle as the creature after which it is named, this is one of Exmoor Brewery's most popular ales. Four malts are mixed in the mash tun and deliver a graceful and sleek malty mouthfeel. Hops are Goldings, producing a burst of delicate citrus and slight spice on the mid-palate, and Progress, which soothes the finish with a soft bitterness, while more malt comes forth to produce a delicious and lingering bittersweet character.

 :: Exmoor GoldExmoor Ales4.5% ABV
Exmoor-  Gold
Exmoor Gold is an appetising and enticing gold in colour. The nose is an interplay between a fresh bouquet of grassy and floral hop and a subtly soft, fluffy caramel-tinged maltiness. The palate sees more balance between gentle grainy maltiness and sprightly floral, citrusy fresh hop fruitiness. The finish is bittersweet with hints of citrus fruit weaving in and out. Try this with a Thai seafood stir-fry, where the delicate hop fruitiness and soft maltiness would add colour to the various spices, or also try with barbequed chicken marinated in honey.

A very popular full bodied best bitter. Malty aroma and taste predominantly with a fruity taste and finish. Not too heavy

 :: Otter AmberOtter4.0% ABV
Otter Amber
Amber is a golden amber beer in colour but the first thing that really zings out, is its lovely aroma - citrus and piney - quite powerful and spicy compared to Bitter and Ale. The taste is predominantly a balance of soft tropical fruit, spice and possibly a bit of ginger - you'll have to try it and be the judge of that. The after taste leaves a traditional bitterness. Definitely concluding that this is another 'moreish' beer in the Otter holt of beers.

The nose is very appealing, with pear and juicy melon aromas, a creamy suggestion of sweetness and some floral nuances. On the palate it is medium-bodied and very clean and smooth, with crisply-defined apple and sweet pear fruit, a gentle hop quality and nice dry, citrussy finish with a suggestion of ginger ale. Easy to drink and summery.

 :: Otter HeadOtter5.8% ABV
Otter Head
Fruity aroma and taste with a pleasant bitter finish. Dark brown and full bodied. This low-foaming beer from Devon's Otter Brewery pours a dark golden/nut brown colour with a thinnish, off-white head. Malt is the immediate aroma on the nose, with a nice toffee and spice darkness, some hoppy, leafy notes and a suggestion of fennel and liquorice. On the palate it is smooth and medium- to full-bodied, with a real bite of assertive hops dominating, over rich, fudge-like malt. The grip of leafy, iron and mineral hoppiness comes though again, leaving the finish tangy, clean and bitter. 5.8% ABV, 50cl, £1.85, Beersofeurope.

HISTORY of ULEY BREWERY
A portrait of Uley BreweryBrewing at Uley began in 1833 at Samuel Price's Brewery. After a long gap, the premises were restored and Uley Brewery opened in 1985. It has its own spring water, which is used to mash in with Tucker's Maris Otter malt and boiled with Herefordshire hops. No sugar or additives are used. Uley serves 40-50 free trade outlets in the Cotswold area and is brewing to capacity. Expansion is not an option as the brewery is a listed building.
