In a bit of a Spot!

A GLOUCESTERSHIRE pub is one of the top contenders in the CAMRA National Pub of the Year competition.

The prestigious title may be bestowed on The Old Spot Inn in Dursely, which is stocked with Bass brands. The pub won the county final and has just won the regional final for the South West and is now one of seven finalists in the national competition.

"Winning the regional final shows what good landlords and excellent products The Old Spot Inn has," said territory sales manager Marc Harries. "Bass Brewers is proud to play a part in helping this pub to win such as prestigious award."

Landlady Elly Sainty said: "We were up against a strong field of competitors and it was a shock to win. Now we have just got to wait for the winner of the national competition to be announced in April."
