We're On the Spot

HAVING rung time on a three-year stint at The Bell in Frampton-on-Severn, landlords Steve and Belinda Herbert were settling into their new surroundings at famed Dursley hostelry The Old Spot this week.

Little is set to change at the Hill Road pub as the pair look to continue the success of the much-decorated inn, built up by now retired Ric and Ellie Sainty.

"It is going to be a challenge," admitted Steve, 30. "But it was an opportunity to move into a quality inn that has won awards over the last four or five years."

The pair have promised more of the home cooked lunchtime food made from local produce and regional recipes that put The Bell on the map.

And the selection of real ales will not change.

Both Steve and Belinda are qualified chefs, are friends of the Saintys and have families connected with the Dursley area.

They are, Steve added, looking forward to renewing their acquaintance with the CAMRA award-winning pub - Steve's watering hole away from Frampton-and the people of the town.
