TV Stardom!
Hello again and welcome to our Christmas edition of the newsletter. October was our month for television . . . Jack making his appearance with Aldo Zilli hunting truffles on the "One Show", our beloved Ric Sainty with a busty young brunette on "Soccer A.M." - check it out on i-player. Then there was the Neil Morrisey series and I was filmed sampling his home brew (and it was really nice so stop asking!).
Uley Brewery Trip
Well another Uley Brewery trip went down a treat and once again without incident, big thanks to Stu the Brew for the grand tour, Chas for his wonderful hospitality, Mary and Ben for the great welcome at the Crown, excellent ales and the buffet was awesome, thanks again. Together we raised £100 for "Riding for the Disabled".
The Ric Fest
Apologies for cancelling "Ric Fest" but it is believed that putting it on around his birthday next year would be more appropriate, so watch this space.
Christmas Opening Hours
Its goes without saying that Christmas is going to be busy again. Both Belinda and myself hope that the evening meals don't cause too much of a disturbance. Please pay special attention to our opening hours through Christmas as listed below. There will be no entry after 11pm - no exceptions.

Xmas Eve
This is quite possibly the 'worst' night of the year! It is so busy, we close the doors at 9pm sometimes earlier if things are getting too busy. There is usually a queue to get in the pub, there is then a further 10 minute wait (minimum) to be served, little to no chance of finding:
- Friends
- Somewhere to sit
- The loos
- Your sanity
- Personal space
Please bear all this in mind and if I still haven't driven you away you will find me on the door looking for Christmas loving.
New Year's Eve
New Years Eve is a lot more relaxed though we still have a no entry policy from 9pm onwards. This, I am afraid applies to everyone - even if you offer to be my best mate forever, I still cannot let you in (stipulations set down in my licence). We lay on a free supper around 11-12, if you are coming and you have any dietary requirements let me know before hand and I will do what I can.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne
We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne.

New Year's Day
This year we are going to celebrate the new year on New Year's Day, its hopefully going to be a lot more relaxed. It's not strictly invitation , but I will be handing them out over the next couple of weeks. If you don't get one, please just ask. I will do my best not to forget anybody. It is R.S.V.P. as this will allow us to lay on enough complimentary food and beer for you all. We will be hosting a open mic night at the same time, so bring yer guitars, tambourines and other instruments you feel comfortable holding.
Xmas Menu
Booking forms can be downloaded and once completed can be handed in to the bar. Bookings are being taken for the 1st - the 22nd December. The

"Hey, and let's be careful out there!"

On a more sombre note, drinking and driving is a fools game, the police as always will be on high alert over the festive season. If you find yourself in a situation where you've had a few beers and you need to get home, ask the bar to book you a taxi; we can always get you home eventually. Even better book one before you leave home for that added bit of security.
. . . and have a Good One!
All that remains to be said is have a fantastic Christmas and a very Merry New Year, from myself, Belinda and the team.
Cheers!
Steve Herbert
